arya's (better) shills list

DELTATRAVELER tells you what you need to know about it as soon as you open the game.

DELTATRAVELER is based on the GOD FUCKING dammit KRIS where the FUCK are we meme that got really popular soon after DELTARUNE Chapter 2 came out. Hearing that may make you want to write it off as a joke game, but describing it that way does it a massive disservice!!!

The game starts off with Kris and Susie in UNDERTALE’s Ruins and goes from there. The game will have multiple “sections,” which is basically the term they use for chapters. There is a full list of the planned sections on the game’s Discord, so I’m not sure if listing them off counts as a spoiler? I won’t though, because I think it would be fun going into them without knowing anything about them.

DELTATRAVELER’s biggest strength is its writing, which is salient among UTDR fan works to me for being really faithful to Toby Fox’s characters and sense of humour. I say that despite the fact that it DOES utilise swears notably more than DELTARUNE does, which makes it even more impressive to me. Even in the game’s most weighty moments, I never once thought that any line of dialogue came across as stupid or poorly written.

I think everyone who enjoyed DELTARUNE and UNDERTALE should play DELTATRAVELER, be they people who only played them once and then went “yea that was cool” and then went on with their day or people who spent years being invested in the fandom. When I’m trying to recommend UTDR fan content to people, I start with this game, because it’s just… really good! You can get through Section 1’s Normal Route in about an hour and a half, so I encourage basically everybody ever to go play it and see how they like it. PLAY DELTATRAVELER!!!
